The Sex Pistols Experience - Interview & Review

The Sex Pistols are one of the most notorious and controversial bands in the history of music, but are easily responsible for inspiring the majority of Punk/Rock Music that has been made since their split in 1978. The 4 piece from London formed in 1975, and changed music forever with their 1977 release, 'Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols'. Their legacy has inspired many, including four guys from East-Yorkshire, England, who formed 'The Sex Pistols Experience', a tribute to the legendary group, in 2001.

'The Sex Pistols Experience' is the world's biggest tribute to the Sex Pistols, sharing their music all across the globe, and I had the amazing opportunity to interview 3 members of the group on Sunday (Feb 25th), before their show in Dublin at the rock club, 'Drop Dead Twice'. You can listen to the 26 minute interview below. We talk about their motivations, meeting and performing with Sex Pistol's guitarist Steve Jones, and the worldwide Tribute Band scene. Listen now!

The interview was recorded right after their soundcheck, and the show that followed was amazing! Not only were the members of the band so nice to me and were happy to let me interview them, they transform into their respective, characters should we say, once they get up on stage, and just shine. I highly recommend 'The Sex Pistols Experience' if you can see them while they're on tour, which seems to be constantly. You get everything here, the bang on look and vibe, the full 'Never Mind The Bollocks' Album, B-Sides, even Sid Vicious and Steve Jones tracks from 'The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle', for €15 and a free drink, it's too good of a deal.

Myself with 3 members of 'The Sex Pistols Experience'. Guess which one I am.

What I especially loved about all of this, was towards the end of the interview, they said that they do it, and have been doing so for 19 years, simply because they're fans. They're not in this for money, sure the money is nice but, they're doing it for the love of it, playing those amazing songs each and every night, representing such a special time in music. It's a great thing. Thank you to 'The Sex Pistols Experience' for giving up their time to talk to me, and hopefully it's the first of many interviews to come. Thank you for reading & listening.
